2017 Fall Tackle Football and Mini Flag

General Information:
Registration - In person at Minoru from 6-8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting July 4th, 2017  or online
Division – There are 6 age divisions consisting of:
Mini Flag (2010/2011/2012), Atom (2008/2009), Peewee (2006/2007), Junior Bantam (2004/2005), Bantam (2002/2003) Midget (1999/2000/2001)
Cost - Mini Flag $200.00 All Tackle Divisions $300.00
Payment – Payment of cash or cheques (payable to RMFL) can be dropped off in person at Minoru during registration hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We will be located at a table by the equipment room off the field . Payment can be made online by credit card or debit card through PayPal (no account necessary). Payments must be submitted prior to the first game of the season on labour day. We also use KIDSPORT and JUMPSTART for registration fees. Please submit your completed form to the registrar before September 10th.
Birth Certificates for New Players – All new players will need to provide a copy of their birth certificates. Please try to get these in as soon as possible or at your first practice. They also can be scanned and emailed to  registrar@raidersfootball.ca .
Jersey and Equipment – The RMFL provides all playing equipment and jersey's for each player. We will custom fit each player with the appropriate size helmets and pads. The RMFL does not provide footwear, shoes or socks) or girdles. Girdles can be purchased separately with or without pads. We can provide pads for girdles that have only pockets.
We require a $ 400.00 post dated cheque to November 30 as a deposit on the equipment we hand out to players. Once the equipment is returned, we give you back your deposit cheque. This cheque is only cashed if equipment is not returned by December 15th.
For Mini flag, the post dated deposit is $100.00 .
You will be notified by coaches which date your team will hand our equipment.
Practices – at Minoru Park (then changing to London Steveston at the beginning of September) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each division has its own practice time. Mini Flag, Atom and Peewee usually practice from 6:00-7:30. Junior Bantam, Bantam, and Midget :will practice 7:30- 9:00. During the season. coaches will add Saturday practices at a time convenient for players and families.
First practice has been set for Tuesday July 4th at Minoru.
Development - The RMFL strongly encourages all Atom and Peewee registered players to take part in the development offered by the league. It is included in the registration and runs on Saturdays. We will give a time based on what works best for families. Here at development, we run players through specific drills that best prepare them for contact and tackling. It will be coached by several experienced coaches from within and outside of the RMFL. The coaching staff will keep players engaged in conditioning, safe tackling, combined with fun football activities.
Coach/Team Contact – You will be contacted by your coach in June for further instruction. If you do not receive any contact by June 30th, please feel free to contact the Registrar at  registrar@raidersfootball.ca .
Coaches Needed – If you are able to put in some time to either coach or be an assistant coach this season, please let the Registrar know as in order to run teams we are also in need of coaches.
Players – if you know of past or newly interested players that have not yet registered, please remind them that the teams are filling up. Our deadline to declare to the VMFL the number of teams we will be running is fast approaching. Please ask them to either register ASAP online, in person during July and August Tuesday and Thursday practices or contact the Registrar directly.
League -  All of our teams play in the VMFL, when we are able to field teams with appropriate number of players. The VMFL is a 3 down, Canadian rules football format. The VMFL is based on 16 organizations through the Lower Mainland and on the Island. Due to low enrollment, we have also played in the GSL , a league that plays 4 down American rules football. Our board members look carefully into team situation before we declare teams in order to compete at an appropriate and safe level.
